About Jax Tai Chi

Tai chi training offers a systematic way to nurture and maintain your body, mind, and spirit. All of my classes are held in a fun and informal atmosphere. I feel this is the most conducive environment for learning. You won’t find the ‘rigidity’ present in many martial art classes. Classes often utilize group and small group formats to optimize the experience for students with varying skill levels.

Short courses and seminars most often find all the participants doing the same activity at the same time. Since all the students are learning the same material and there is a limited period of time, this structure usually works quite well.

In addition to Tai Chi, instruction is also available in Long Fist, Baguazhang, Xingyiquan, traditional Chinese weapons, practical self defense, balance training, and other topics.

Joel continues to study with Grandmaster Gracenin as a formal student, and has studied with many famous Masters including Bow Sim Mark ↗, Wang Peishong ↗, Liang Shouyu ↗, Professor Li Deyin↗, and Madame Wang Jurong ↗, among others.
